***** Ladies' Ministry The Ladies' Ministry of First Baptist church meets at 6:30 P.M. on the first Monday of the month (unless other events prohibit) in the fellowship hall.
The
vision and purpose of our Ladies' Ministry is fourfold: The Ladies' Ministry coordinates the annual Secret Sisters banquet each fall. It is open to any ladies of the church whether they choose to be a Secret Sister or not. One of our favorite, and most rewarding ministries, is the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Ladies in our church who either knit or crochet make the shawls following a prescribed pattern and praying over the stitches for the woman who will eventually receive the shawl. The shawls are presented to someone who is experiencing a time of trial or sorrow as an expression of our love and concern and to let them know they are in our prayers. Since May of 2006, we have presented around 22 prayer shawls. We always need volunteers to make the shawls as well as people to donate the yarn or money to buy the yarn. We also have a prayer concern basket on our Ladies' Ministry table where anyone can drop in a request for prayer. This is checked each Sunday and prayer requests are shared and prayed over by our women. Several of our ladies meet at the front of the church each Sunday Morning at 9:00 a.m. to pray for the day's services and other needs. If you have a prayer request, know of someone with a need that we could meet, or want to share suggestions for how the Ladies' Ministry can better fulfill our vision and purposes, you may call Cloty Miller at 847-2609, Linda Snyder at 847-2481, or Pam Witt at 847-2207. You may also email Linda Snyder at sandlsnyder@dishmail.net
