Everyone needs to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Everyone needs to be saved or rescued from the sins we have committed. These sins have caused us to be separated from God. There is not anything we can do to get back to God. There is only one way to make things right with God and this way is only through Jesus. John 14:6 (CSB) says, Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” God knew we would sin and still He sent Jesus to be our sacrifice. We can see in Romans 5:8 (CSB) it says, “But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” John 3:16 states it best, “For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” How can you have a relationship with Jesus? John 1:12 tells us, “But to all who did receive him, he gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in his name.” We would like to share with you the ABCs of salvation.
A = Admit:
Admit to God that you are a sinner. The first people God created chose to sin and disobey God. Ever since then, all people have chosen to sin and disobey.
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Repent, turn away from your sin.
Acts 3:19 – Therefore, repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out.
1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
B = Believe:
Believe that Jesus is god's son and accept god's gift of Forgiveness from sin.
Acts 16:31 – They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved you and your household.”
Acts 4:12 – There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.
John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
C = Confess:
Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as savior and lord.
Romans 10:9-10 – If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.
Romans 10:13 – For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
If you have read all this and want to take care the separation you have from God because of your sin. Take time now to talk to Him. If you are unsure what to say read the following prayer and if you truly mean what you are saying, then you become a Child of God.
“Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I want to turn from my sins, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe He died for my sins and that You raised Him to life. I want Him to come into my heart and to take control of my life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord from this day forward. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
